You don't have to love every inch of your body to deserve beautiful photographs. Sometimes, you just need someone to help you see yourself a little differently.
One of my favorite things about being a boudoir photographer in Brooksville, Florida, is getting to hear how women feel after their sessions. Not just about their photographs, but about the entire experience and how they see themselves afterward.
And this client's review is one I absolutely had to share.
She came into her boudoir session feeling confident enough to take the leap, but like so many women, she still had insecurities about certain parts of herself. She had scars she'd spent years feeling self-conscious about, and understandably, she wasn't sure how she would feel seeing them in her photographs.
But she took the chance on herself anyway.
And her experience turned into something so much more than a photoshoot.
You Don't Have to Hide the Parts of Yourself You're Insecure About
One thing she mentioned in her review that really stuck with me was how comfortable she felt about her scars throughout the entire experience.
She shared that I never made her feel like her scars were something she needed to hide, fix, or be embarrassed about.
That's exactly how I want every woman who walks into my studio to feel.
Your body has a story. Your scars, stretch marks, curves, softness, and all the little things you might spend time criticizing are part of that story.
I'm not here to make you feel like you need to change before getting in front of my camera.
If there's something you're personally uncomfortable with and would like edited, we can absolutely discuss that. These are your photographs, and your comfort matters. But I never want you walking into my studio thinking you need to apologize for the body you have.
You deserve to feel beautiful exactly as you are.
The Hair, Makeup, and Experience Matter Too!
She also mentioned something that made me laugh because I hear this concern ALL THE TIME.
She said it was the first time she'd ever had her makeup professionally done without feeling like she had a million corrections to make.
If you've never had professional hair and makeup done, or you've had experiences where you walked away not feeling like yourself, I get why that might make you nervous.
That's why the experience matters just as much as the photographs.
From professional hair and makeup to wardrobe guidance, posing direction, and helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera, I walk you through the entire process.
You don't need modeling experience. You don't need to know how to pose. And you definitely don't need to show up knowing what to do.
That's my job!
The Best Part? She Left Feeling Beautiful, Confident, and Empowered.
Her favorite part wasn't just that she loved her photographs (although she is absolutely OBSESSED with them).
It was how she felt when she left.
She described feeling beautiful, confident, empowered, and having SO much fun throughout the entire experience.
And then she said something that made my heart ridiculously happy.
She's making this a YEARLY self-care tradition.
Because why shouldn't you have something that is just for YOU? Something that gives you permission to step away from the everyday responsibilities, get pampered, feel beautiful, and celebrate the woman you are right now.
You don't need a birthday, wedding, anniversary, weight loss milestone, or special occasion to book a boudoir photoshoot.
You are reason enough.
