Before you go out and spend money on an outfit for your photoshoot, make sure you raid your closet first!
One of my biggest tips I give my clients is to go through your closet (if you have a significant other theirs too) and your drawers and see what you have at home to bring to your session. Shopping for clothes can be stressful for some women to begin with, now mix in the thought of adding in new lingerie and it can be intimidating. Not to worry though, I do have a client closet at the studio that you have complete access to HOWEVER if you did want to bring pieces from home and are not sure on what to bring then keep on reading!
Let's start off with the more obvious answer. Any type of intimate clothing will do. This includes underwear and bras, silky night slips, lacey bralettes, bodysuits etc..
Now let's discuss maybe the not so obvious answer. I always recommend bringing in your favorite sweater (preferably oversized) to give your pictures that warm cozy vibe or your significant others button down shirt. Denim! You would be surprised on how sexy a pair of denim shorts or jeans will look in your photos. Another option that most people have in their closet is a robe. Whether it is a getting ready robe or a bath robe, it will do the trick. You can also bring in your favorite pair of shoes and jewelry to add a little more edge to your session. Lastly, if you have a favorite sports team and have a jersey, bring it!
At the end of the day, whatever you decide to bring to your boudoir session, make sure you are comfortable in it. Boudoir is so much more than wearing lingerie. It is making sure you feel beautiful in whatever you choose to wear!
